Our Corporate Partner, Dell
As part of Dell's community initiative to share its expertise and resources with communities around the world, Dell Learning Centre was launched at AG Home in Aug 2006 by Michael Dell.
Dell equipped the centre at AG Home with 13 Dell OptiPlexTM 2190 desktops with flat panel monitors, two DellTM Photo All-In-One 924 Printers and one Dell LatitudeTM 620 notebook and a variety of software licenses. Dell also contributed a broad range of system maintenance and other services, including parts and labour warranties, for the next three years. This is part of the organisation's efforts to ensure sustainable initiatives in the community that have lorm term impact on recipients.
Dell's technology will help young women whose lives have been interrupted prepare for the Institute of Technical Education BEST and WISE modules, and the General Certificate of Education 'Normal' and 'Ordinary' Level examinations. In addition, the residents will also utilise the technology to learn basic accounting, design and layout skills, technology affinity and personal development.
“Our goal is to ensure technology acts as an enabler for children an youht while addressing needs in the communities where Dell people live and work. Our Dell Learning Centres in Singapore, Malaysia, India and China have been crucial in driving this vision and we are glad we can make the difference in the lives of the young women of Andrew & Grace Home.”
