Why should you donate to AG Home?

Andrew & Grace Home is a self-financing voluntary welfare organisation.

As we are registered under Presbyterian Community Services (PCS) that is a local charity with IPC status, your donations will enjoy double tax deduction benefits.

AG Home currently serves around 60 girls and a number of them come from struggling families (eg single-parent) or families in crisis (eg parents in prison).

Our rehabilitation & residential work revolves around 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. 80% of our staff live-in with the girls and work on rotating shifts to ensure smooth operation of the home.

As our mission aims not just to restore and revive broken lives, but also to renew the minds of our juvenile delinquents through education, a good amount of our expenditure goes into engaging qualified teachers to help the girls gain basic education.

Government grants and funding only meet around 60% of our budget. We need to raise S$500,000 in 2007 to cover our operating expenses. At the same time, we are now looking and raising funds for a new place as the lease for our current premises in Telok Kurau runs out by January 2008.

Please help us to:

  • Continue our work of rehabilitating juvenile offenders who are involved in substance abuse, gang fights and thefts so that they may re-integrate into society as responsible and useful individuals
  • Save unwanted babies from being dumped or aborted. We help the babies find adoption or fostering homes.
  • Offer a place of refuge for girls who suffered family violence, psychological/physical/sexual abuse
  • Improve family ties through counselling. The girls are usually able to communicate better with their parents over time.
  • Provide a shelter for homeless and reformed girls. A number of our ex-girls continue to stay with us upon their discharge when they can’t return to their own homes (e.g. lack of conducive environment).
  • Grant education scholarships to deserving girls. A few of our ex-girls, having gone through similar experiences, now become trainee counsellors to the current residents.
